An open call to all visual artists living in Los Angeles County to contribute to an exhibition examining the trends, themes, and terrain of drawing in Los Angeles today.

Center for the Arts, Eagle Rock is a unique exhibition venue located in a historic 1913 Spanish Colonial Revival building, a former Carnegie Library. We are a non-profit

501(c) 3 organization whose mission is to provide multicultural, innovative, and local arts programming to Northeast Los Angeles and surrounding communities. The Center is dedicated to supporting artists in reaching both traditional and non-traditional audiences. Programs of Center for the Arts Eagle Rock include the Eagle Rock Music Festival, free and low-cost after school arts classes for children, concerts, exhibitions, a Summer Art Camp, and more.

Entry Procedure and Guidelines

* Full application must be received by 3.28.08 no later than 5p.m.

* Maximum two submissions per artist

* Artwork should have been completed within the last two years

* There is no fee for entry

* Complete entry form must be signed and include a stamped, self-addressed envelope for the return of images

* Incomplete applications will not be reviewed

* Mail application, entry form, and images to:

Media

* All media will be accepted, but the work must focus on drawing.

* Size limit for two-dimensional artwork is 72 inches in any direction including frame.

* Size limit for three-dimensional artwork is 72 x 36 x 36 inches. (Weight not to exceed 25 lbs.)


Slide/JPEG and DVD Requirements

* Include one image for each two-dimensional artwork

* Two images may be included for three-dimensional artwork

* CD with 300 dpi JPEG Images

-We are not responsible if images cannot be opened; please check prior to submission of CD.

-Label CD with your name, address, phone, email + title of work(s).

Delivery of artwork and liability information

After notification of acceptance into the exhibition, work must be delivered to the Center between April 28 + May 2, 2008. Artwork must remain installed until exhibition closes on June 14, 2008. Artwork must be picked up during business hours June 16-19, 2008.

Work must be delivered and picked up during designated dates and during business hours unless other arrangements have been made and agreed upon in advance. Work can be returned via Fed Ex if shipping has been pre-paid by the artist.

Center for the Arts, Eagle Rock will take no responsibility for artwork left after those dates and will consider the work abandoned.

Insurance (not exceeding $5,000.00) applies only to the duration of exhibition.

Any special installation instructions must be provided with the work in advance of installation. Without such instruction, the Center will take no responsibility as to how the work is installed, or if, because of its installation it is damaged. Artwork must be ready to hang.

Center for the Arts is a multi-use facility, so the artwork must occasionally be moved for events, but every precaution is taken to protect the artwork.

The exhibition committee is solely responsible for the exhibition design and placement of the artwork.

If accepted, your work must be delivered at the times indicated on this form unless other arrangements have been made in advance. Artwork must be ready to hang with the appropriate hardware. Likewise, at the close of the exhibition you must pick up your work at the indicated times unless other arrangements have been agreed to in advance. The Center will take no responsibility for works left here after those dates, but will consider the work to have been abandoned. Such work will become the property of the Center for the Arts, Eagle Rock, to be used as deemed appropriate. Any special installation instructions must be provided with the delivery of the work or in advance.
